MISSION: The Institute for Advanced Architecture is an independent, private institution dedicated to advancing Architecture through research, exchange, and exhibition.
COLLECTIVE BYLAWS:
Particular goals, strategies, and areas of inquiry vary from member to member in pursuit of the IAA's mission. These bylaws should be held in common by all and, once agreeing to them, they form the basis on which decisions are made and points are discussed. We are committed to:
1) Openness toward each other's interests and ways of working.
2) Making decisions by consensus at every scale of operation and accepting these decisions once they have been made.
3) Sharing work, ideas, and resources with fellow members.
4) The concept that individual ownership of an idea or project disappears once it has been put forward, whereupon it is left to the participants to make the decisions to see it through.
5) The idea that this mission is greater than any individual.
